This is just a quickie about me and this. A word or 415 on who I am, what I do and the niggly-wiggly in between. I’m Camilla. Most people call me Millie. Some people call me Mil. But the very special people call me Milla.

This is just going to be a collection of things. Food that makes me happy. Recipes that make me remember things. And places that you guys should go to. I’m in a love affair with food. She’s a fickle mistress; sometimes she’ll embrace me with open arms, wrapped around me like an oozing chocolate fondant. Once or twice she’ll scold me for being naughty like a bloody hot vindaloo. But most of the time she just let’s me bask in her sultry freshly-baked-bread aroma, her comic fingers wafting up my nose and filling my stomach with euphoria. Oh god, I love food. There is no-one else for me.

So that’s me in the blue, high on life(or something similar, probably whatever my cousin’s on, in the pink) long before my obsession with food began. The lady who probably needs to check the back of her coat is my Aunt, the person who first introduced me to the wondrous sweet potato fries, terrible American chocolate and the dangerous Canadian eateries. The guy in the fantastic mac is my Pap. An absolute gem of a bloke, he’s my biggest inspiration. Not because he was a foodie, i’m sure he ate whatever my Nan put in front of him, in which case it’s anyone’s guess he was around that long! No, he’s my inspiration because i’ve never met anyone as hardworking as he. As positive as he. He was always the one who believed in you. If you were convinced you could breed chickens to lay Cadbury Creme Eggs, he’d say ‘Right, let’s get to it then!’.

This is kind of for him. I’m not soppy. I don’t do feelings and whatnot. But yeah, he’s helping me sort this s**t out.

So I cook everyday. Be it at work, at home, or anywhere with a kitchen. I suppose a blog makes sense. This is my chance to show you guys some of the things I make, the struggles along the way and the joys of a recipe turning out not half bad. If you want me to make a specific post, let me know and i’ll do my best!
